CFA Level1 Exam

MBAThe CFA (Certified Finance Analyst) Program is a self-study, graduate-level program, available to investment professionals throughout the world.

The program requires one to gather knowledge in and pass three levels of exams to meet the professional and ethical requirements. If you pass the exams and meet all the requirements, you earn a CFA charter.

Syllabus

The Level I curriculum concentrates on tools and concepts relating to investment valuation and portfolio management. The course also covers securities laws and regulations, and the CFA® Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. The curriculum highlights an overview of asset valuation and portfolio management practices:


1. Financial markets and other financial instruments
2. Corporate finance
3. Analysis of financial statement
4. Quantitative methods of investment analysis"

 

 

Exam Schedule for December 2011

Level 1 Exam happens in June and December, the registartion for the exma shall be open for more than a Year. The earlier you register, the cost of entrolment shall be minimum.

The registration for next year June Level 1 eam shall start immediately after the results of June 2011 are published.

Experts suggest that we register a year before because of the following reasons

Pros:

1. the cost of enrollment shall be minimum, $300 or more can be saved!!

2. the time for preperation shall be good enough

Cons:

1. The time to take level 2 and 3 will be delayed by another 6 months

2. Factor in the oppurtunity cost

Exam Format

The CFA Level I exam is composed of multiple choice questions only.

How Long Does It Take?


1. For each exam level, plan on approximately six months of preparation
2. Successfully complete the three exams sequentially and accumulate 48 months of approved work experience
3. Successful candidates take an average of four years to complete the program
